Alpha Alpha’s Outreach Projects
Bristol Cancer Association
Alpha Alpha continues to support the Bristol Cancer Association as our charitable outreach ministry. Each member is urged to bring the following items to monthly meetings for donations: monetary contributions, new bed linens, towels and wash cloths, bath soap, shampoo, lotion, bedclothes, and robes.
A basket will be provided at each Alpha Alpha meeting to collect the items that you bring to be taken to the Bristol Wellmont Hospice House for home health care nurses to give to area cancer patients. This is a great need in our community. We have several members who are volunteers for the Hospice House and the Bristol Cancer Association.

Books from Birth Project: Imagination Library
Books from Birth Registration: In August, 2007, Alpha Alpha members volunteered at the Bristol YWCA for the Baby Fair to register children for free books. Since September, 2007, Alpha Alpha members have registered children for free books at the Bristol Mall and at the Appalachian Fair in Gray, TN. Throughout the year members continue to sign up children for the Imagination Library. We have many volunteers in this very important cause.
Book Donations
Alpha Alpha has collected hundreds of children's books for area children of all ages. These books have been distributed to East Tennessee State University Physicians Pediatrics Literacy Center, Delta Kappa Gamma CIEC at Sullivan County Library, Bristol YWCA and YMCA children's programs, Sullivan County Children's Advocacy Center, Victim's of Domestic Violence Shelter and Even Start Developmental Community Day Care Center.
